World Premiere, Network for New MusicLung-Ta – The Windhorse, for large chamber ensemble, visual art and dance was commissioned by Network for New Music. Inspired by the indigenous art and music of Nepal, Lung-Ta will draw from research materials and recordings gathered by Andrea Clearfield and visual artist Maureen Drdak, who are embarking on a trek to the restricted northern area of Lomonthang, Nepal this August, accompanied by Dr. Sienna Craig, cultural anthropologist from Dartmouth College. The collaborative performance will feature music by Andrea Clearfield performed by Network for New Music and conducted by Jan Kryzwicki, paintings by Maureen Drdak and the Group Motion Dance Company, directed by Manfred Fischbeck.
